A Grand Haven Home Makes the Top 5 Sales in the Grand Rapids Metro Area
It’s always exciting to see a Grand Haven home get some extra attention, and this one was especially fun for me.
A home I recently had the privilege of listing at 1640 Gladys Avenue in Grand Haven was featured by RealtyWire as the No. 4 highest-priced reported home sale in the Grand Rapids metro area for the week ending September 13, 2026.
The home sold for $1,175,000, and while the recognition is exciting, what I really love is seeing a unique West Michigan property find the right buyer.
A Home With So Much Character
Built in 1958, this Mid Century Modern home offered something you simply don't find every day.
The five-bedroom, four-bath home featured more than 4,000 square feet of living space on 1.2 acres near Lake Michigan. From the three-sided fireplace and walls of windows to the sunroom, in-ground pool, hot tub, and beautifully updated living spaces, there was a lot to love about this property.
It was also extensively renovated, with updates including a new roof, hardwood floors, remodeled kitchen, updated bathrooms, new outdoor spaces, and more.
Unique Homes Need the Right Marketing
Properties like this are a great reminder that selling a home isn't just about putting it on the market and waiting for a buyer.
Every home has a story, but distinctive properties especially need marketing that helps buyers understand what makes them special.
That means identifying the home's strongest features, presenting them well, reaching the right audience, and having a strategy from the beginning.
It's one of my favorite parts of what I do.
